The turbo from the MY99 is crap though - doesn't flow very much although it is not very laggy. Did the 92WRX have the TD05? There is a 90 degree bend in the TD05 used on most/all (AFAIK) Scoobies (not sure about 92) so the TD04L from the MY99 would require some work. If it is a TD05 then why not just get another - loads about.
The ECU is designed for a rather different Phase II engine. If you put the whole lot in including loom that would be a different matter.
What are you trying to achieve?

John, a 92 car is an MY93. But yeah, we do have a TD05 in it with a 90 degree bend.
DrivingMachine, keep your TD05 and whack up on the boost using a Dawes. When I had it on 18 psi, it felt really really quick in terms of spool up and acceleration. I reduced it back to 10.5 psi until my AFR arrives from Jamie. Can't risk detting my engine to pieces.

it might not fit. the most you can fit is an MY95 ECU which takes it up to another 20 bhp. i'm looking for 1 myself.
edit ~ we've got a 4 plug btw for our model.

thanks for the reply, jus want a turbo with less lag, i havnt touched it so the turbo is probably the same (TD05). The parts are available to me from a mate and so wouldn't cost me much. would it be beneficial to change the ecu? these are all parts from a rb5, he's doin some moddin so sellin me the parts. How much work would be required to make that turbo fit, look forward to your reply.

I personally think going to a TD04 would be a backward step - it is just too small. If you have not already fitted a downpipe this will help reduce the boost threshold and the lag. A remap can help by increasing the ignition timing low down, and often on the later cars at least increasing the fuelling. It won't do miracles but will help a lot. Boost controllers can reduce the boost threshold as well, but need caution on WRX.
Options for remaps on your car include Unichip, Link (I think it is available for MY92).
