Over the last few weeks when first starting my Jap STI, the engine doesn't run smoothly below 3500 revs for the first 15mins. After this period it's fine. I would appreciate any ideas.

I'm using super unleaded but have to admit that i've put in normal unleaded a couple of times when unable to find super. Also it was serviced in March. What does blipping the throttle on startup do? I'm not aware that i do this.

Do not press on the throttle when you start up!
