Unhappy 3 gear synchro on 5 speed

hi all my gc8 is telling me to buy a new gearbox, I get a minor grating in 3rd gear prob 5 out of 10 gear changes. so I lived with it but now it spoils the car as its good in all other respects. I damaged it my self through been unable to engage gear ,but managed to get round this. is it selector fork I wonder ? is this inside the box? all other gears ok 1st a bit stiff on cold mornings. id try an oil change but I don't think that will sort.... what u think??? any ideas before I pull 700 out my wallet.

Castrol syntrans has worked wonders on my gc8 classic. it cured 1 to 2 crunch and occasional 2 to 3 crunch when hot. it lasted 3 years then happened again. I changed the oil again and same result; perfect.
worth a try at £45 quid.

personally find the Castrol poor value for money and we have other options at better costs that will show at least similar results.........
