As title says really...

Who has a rollcage in their car... anybody seen one for a 5dr?

What sort have you got, bolt in, weld in, half cage...

Do they get in the way of back seats or can you remove diagnols (sp?)

We have fitted a few to 4 doors, but not a 5 door.

The location points would be the same though, so it should fit.

The rear diagonals are not removable from an FIA spec cage (such as Safety Devices) so you will lose the use of the rear seats. Alternatively, you could modify the rear frame by cutting them out, as we have also done for a couple of customers.

A bolt in cage still needs some welding, as the forward and centre floor location boxes have to be welded in.

The Japanese "street" cages are stronger than they look and are easier to fit, most not needing any welding. They are not up to the strength of a proper cage though and in a roll, I would rather have the real thing around me.

The latest WRX and STi have a cage built already built into the shell.

Fitting an FIA cage is not a 1 hour job!!

I have one in my 4 door, so I'm sure you won't be that interested( as yours is a 5 door and won't fit). Its made by saftey devices and its removable, but to much like hard work & I never have use for the rear seats. I bought it second-hand from mellow.
It weighs a ton but seems to make the car rigid.

There was a lot of debate about this in Spring 01. I have the removeable roll-cage designed and patented by Performance Drivers and made by Safety Devices.

It's a very smart piece of kit offering major passenger protection, reasonable cost at £500, ideal mounting points for harnesses, and can be fitted in ten minutes, removed in five. My son and I have beaten these times easily to prove to non-believers. It also acts as a rear strut brace.

Fits old-shape two, four and five-door cars, I think.

Highly recommended

Best regards,

Richard.
