Exclamation

This may be a daft idea but seeing as David_Wallis is making the mother of all DIY FMIC I thought about making my own.

You can pick up std TMIC's cheap so why not use 2?

The permutations are:
1 in std position, 1 front mounted in series,
2 front mounted, in parallel or series.

The bumper is deep enough but would have to be modified for width but you would need to get some tubing to the turbo and i/l manifold.

Am I going mad or what?

Sounds good - going for the front mount option only sounds best. You can also join cores together. May I suggest Corky Bell, Maximum Boost - there is a good section on intercooler design which would let you hit the ground running. Forgive me for not vomiting the contents here, but there are quite a few pages on the topic

Cool

I'll get some measurements to check feasibility.

Glad that I didn't get the reply I thought I would...

Hi,

Try reading this article from autospeed, it shows that the STi intercooler is good but not that good compared to other second hand intercoolers on the market.... The sti intercooler only had the 3rd best flow rate..... one of the best was an RX7 intecooler...

http://www.autospeed.com/A_0901/page1.html

Hope this is of help..
