New filter and temporarily decreased fuel economy?
#1
Hey guys and girls,
I recently fitted an ITG Panel filter, and at the same time I also reset the ECU. I then ran it around for a while as you do and found the performance to be what I thought was lacking, and definately some stuttering of sorts. Things appear to have cleaned up since then.
Just thinking today, my fuel economy for the tank after fitting the filter was actually another couple of litres per 100km above normal. This has since settled down however.
Is it possible that the filter required "cleaning out" of sorts, and the car was perhaps running richer for some time hence the decreased fuel economy, or could this be due to the ECU reset, or what?
Anyone able to offer any explanation?
Thanks,
J

It's a MY95, Jap WRX.
Yep you could be quite right... although I have performed the reset once before and there was no noticable difference... however I will check my figures tonight.
