My mate Ted used to swear by Wynnes "Instead of lead" fluid. He put it in his lawnmower before he bought a new mower with an engine that can take unleaded. He puts Optimax in now and it goes like a bomb....Blutes

No, he keeps his grass short, so turbocharging isn't really necessary. He is thinking about fitting a K & N filter though to keep the grass cuttings out of the engine. The filter thats on at the moment leaves a lot to be desired....Blutes

I think you are referring to the Qualcast Maximow 2000. The ECU on that one does overheat if the cuttings impinge on the airfilter. My mates mower is a Flymow Retro 1800BB. Much better model IMHO for those wishing to keep their lawns short and looking fresh.....Blutes

i disagree. what do you base that opinion on?
i, and many other people, have used octane booster in the past and found that it does provide a real, albeit small, boost in performance.
my main reason for using it is when i am unable to get my grubby mits on optimax. i drive a moderately modified evo 5 which, being a japanese car, is setup to run on 100ron fuel.
as for the lawn mower, well, i dont actually own a subaru!![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
any answers to my original questions?

What the lads are trying to say is that the Wynns doesn't do to much and that you should try another Octane booster on your EVO. NF octane booster appears to be very popular on here, from posts that I've read. I haven't used any of the products my self and I'm just going off what I've read on here.

Coolmeister,
This may help you. Both Wynn's and NF are in this test, done by an independant party.
