Good job.
Lower pressure drop across the intercooler means to get the same manifold pressure the Dawes is adjusted because you are tapping at the compressor outlet.
Reducing the pressure drop for a give MAP results in a lower pressure ratio and greater turbo efficiency even if it doesn't cool any better. Hopefully it will do this too and you are onto a good one.

yeah it was the angled one but i must say its not an easy job,for starters you can not retain the dump valve that is on the side of the intercooler as there isn`t enough room for it.(made a blanking plate for this)
you also need some extra piping from the turbo to the ally pipe on the under side of the intercooler.(an elbow at 51mm and a straight piece at the same size, got them from hosedirect in doncaster)
you also need a dump valve fitting kit to refit your dump valve(got mine at local motorshop)
you also need the underpan from a post 97(newer shape)model to complete the job.
i must warn you though,DO NOT undertake this job if you are not willing to lose some skin from your fingers

dean-it feels fantastic mate
dan-not yet mate, been putting all my time into this bl00dy intercooler
got a new steering wheel,gear **** and pedals(all momo)
scoobysport downpipe (it blowes flames out now )
thinking about fitting poly bushes and some good springs as the dampers are firm enough and that should be the handling sorted.
also looking at some good brakes too but that will be my winter project as it will be off the road from november.

Hi Carlos,
the under bonnet tray is the easiest bit to fit, the 2 holes at the front of the tray line up with the 2 bolts on the front of the scoop.
there is just enough room between the throttle body and the bulk head to fit the intercooler but if you want to make the job a little easier remove the lip from the front of the intercooler.
hope this helps
jonny
ps tried to send you e-mail but it got returned

Im glad to read that youve managed to get this to work, as i had the same thing said about it not fitting.MY95 Wrx Ra could do with this mod as ive already got a spare sti intercooler which i started to modifiy to fit. Ive blanked off the alloy dump valve pipe that comes from the front & cut a spare throttle body short but still have a clearance problem with the rear bulkhead. Some pics would be great and some more info on the under tray thingy.

done this aslo, just be brutal with the plate over the engine mount on the rear bulkhead, if you are using the i/c with the ally y pipe then it will foul on a couple of corners, just needs a big hammer
