MY93 Clutch gone?/Gear linkages adjustable?

My clutch bites at the very top, smells when hard 1st gear get aways? 60k miles, time for a new clutch I guess?
All the gears are smooth, except for 4th down to 3rd which is awkward, 3rd up to 4th is fine.
I'm not sure if the gear linkages can be adjusted?
I'm not sure how short the gear change should be, and if it has a quick shift fitted, it's short, but there is a lot of movement when the car is in gear, I hope the gearbox is ok, shifting down from 4th to 3rd when driving slowly is ok, anything over 60mph and it crunches.
If i need a new clutch, which make to buy, best place to buy and at the best price????
I was going to change the gearbox oil, as I can not afford a gearbox rebuild. Or do scooby clutches always bite as the top on this year model car?
I have fingers crossed, I may still be able to afford a holiday this year
Sorry for the naive questions, cheers, scooby newbie![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)

It can be awkward when trying to get a quick change, when I first got the car I was forever booting from 2nd, then a few seconds later finding third by then, I was going a snails pace, this crunch from 4th down to 3rd is worrying me.
Is the travel in to first gear short?
The first time I drove it, I was not sure if it was in gear or not because the movement was so short, maybe this is normal ???

I know exactly what you mean. But its not because can't find third, its just that it wouldn't let me get into it in the first place. I think both of us need a new clutch for now.

Are you running std first clutch also, even since I increased the boost, it's gets slightly more angry at quick pull aways.
First car I have driven in the wet where you can actually pull away without wheel spinning, a novelty yet to be tired of
)
Does anyone know if you can adjust the gear linkages?

I found it took time to perfect the motion for 2nd-3rd change. Seems like the stick snags, thing to do is move stick properly. I can't describe what I've changed to make it a fuild change, but I can change as quickly as in any other car now.
