Steven,

Just had a FMIC put on and the turbo pipe kept doing the same thing.... I solved it buy taking of hoses and cleaning the inside and the connecting pipe. It had oil on it from the old intercooler and the pressure was forcing it to slip...

Just get a rag and wipe the insides quite hard...

Then tighten the jubilee clip near the ridge. (You may need new Jubilee clips - as you may have over tightend them.)

Good luck in sorting it!

ok how easy is it to take the turbo inlet hose off!!

are they both worth replacing with a samco job?

Running the increased boost of a tek2 you should uprate your intercooler pipework. This is done on the PPP and is recommended by various tuners too. The OEM stuff, especially the plastic Y piece pipe underneath the intercooler have a nasty habit of going pop with the increased boost. I don't know much about it all but I'd suspect that increased pressure in the pipes might be forcing them off the metal pipe ends?

Get some Samco hoses; about £75 from GGR. Vey good service, ordered them one lunchtime they arrived the next morning at 0730. Easy DIY job to fit too.

Another vote for GGR and the samcos!! Mine too, ordered at lunch, delivered 9am next day - very impressed. Was about 85 quid though!

Question

Since i have had the tek2 ecu i have noticed that the cold air intake into the turbo has started to slip away from where it was originally, can tell by nice shiny metal underneath pipe, see below...

this also appears to be happening to the exit pipe from the turbo to the intercooler, see picture below....

hopefully pictures are clear enough for you to see.

i know it does not appear to be much of a problem, but i slackened them and repositioned them and re-tightened them just last night, and they have both moved about 1/2 centimeter in about 90 miles of normal driving.

just a little confused and wonder if anyone knows why this is happening.

Should i worry about it?
If so, or not, what is the solution?

Cheers

Steven

edit as got pictures wrong way round
