I have a PPP Backbox and am considering fitting a stainless Decat Center 'without resonator' from either TSL/Scoobysport or if miracles occur and people have stock, a Magnex.

What sort of noise levels/change can I expect ?

If by 'crackle' you mean a harder tone, yup.

Scott

I've got a PPP back box with full SS Decat and its still not as loud as G's Scoobyk with his TSL back box IMHO.

If you want to go for a spin next Saturday to see for yourself just tell me when I arrive and we'll go out for a few miles of low speed testing

Nathan..

I like the sound of ScoobyK's, but IMHO it's a bit too loud.
I want similar, but slightly quieter....

Scott,

I would expect a slight increase in noise, but nothing too drastic. It's by no means as much as going from OEM backbox to PPP one. I was running with SS centre and back, my mate had SS centre and PPP back and his was quieter than mine in the cabin and outside. It's hard to gauge sound levels as what is loud for one person is not loud for another.

Oh forgot to mention, I think the noise will be slightly louder with a magnex as I believe they use thinner steel (or something). Give Pete Croney or Trouser a bell and they should be able to tell you the different noise levels better

Mine popped and banged a bit with just the centre and back done on the overrun, mainly coming down hills using engine braking and blipping the throttle, but occasionally at other times. Seems that some will do it and some won't though as my mates doesn't pop and bang at all
