Prodrive Story
Prodrive quoted as saying "The wait has been worth it for all STI UK owners."
No news on power/torque as yet.
Just wanted to clear up all those rumours

PPP technician is in South Africa @ the moment , after having come from the USA . The Subaru guys here say the Sti VII will have around 225 kw and 400 + torque . The kit comprises up pipe , down pipe , full exhaust etc. Sounds delicious huh . We all expecting good things from it .

Tony ,
We get same UK type STI VII as you guy's and will run on 95. Simon is from the UK .I understand he does the world trip to see if the UK PPP needs adjusting for the different countries . The expected figures are indeed a 315bhp and VERY good torque . Sorry I was so excited about the PPP kit I missed the torque figure . Our fuel in Johannesburg is just 93 ron , so my brother and I travel 300km's (one way and back)with 25 x 20lt. drums to collect 97 ron fuel which lasts us a month . Have been doing the trip since January .
BTW there is a big rivalry between BMW and Subaru in South Africa and my brother ran the new M3 2 cars lengths to 160km/h off the line with a 4500rpm start and the M3 never came past .
I reckon there going to be some scared people out there when the PPP hits the streets . Subaru HQ is just a mile or 2 from where I work so I'm keeping a close eye on things . I am going to go and watch when they map it on the dyno .
Hope the 0-62mph breaks into the 4's

Ray,
Great I found my STi7 awesome over 4Krpm not much to beat it (average 12 miles per galleon) brilliant drivers car IMHO but without PPP miss the low/mid range torque when in English traffic so I like many UK owners are happy to have a slight increase of BHP but looking forward to vast increase of low down Torque)
I love the car on the twisties, open the window and listen to the diff's talk to you oooooooooops sad I know but as close as I get to sex nowadays

Ray,
Can you obtain bottles of octane booster Millers or Pro booost ???? out your way a 2 bottles every tank full would give a rough equivilant of 98 octane
Mind you some Techies on here may correct me on that statment but may reduce the travelling
tONY

Tony ,
Thats a negative , no Millers , we had a run of Nulon and NF but
not sure if they around anymore . According to Brett at MRT "all"
boosters are no good for the car and cause some sort of prob and he recommends Toulene , thats what they use in Oz . But our fuel is already high in aromatics , although its a great booster , makes the car a very agressive revver . Thats why I prefer getting 97 , oh I forgot to mention I use a booster on top of that as well . Its supposed to be what "Mobil" use to boost their fuel from 93 > 97 and feels similar to toulene in action , I wish I could send you some but it will prob evaporate , I add only 150 ml on top of 97 . The fuel cap still sais use 98 ULP only so I try and aim high as possible for RON . So no octane probs for me , just takes a little effort . Must say never even thought of putting in this effort for other cars I've owned .
If I had to single out the favourate aspects of the Sti it would be the gear shift action , steering response (I go for 2.8 bar up front - sorry not sure in psi) and the midrange , I removed the second cat (one just after down pipe) by unbolting it ; easy just jack up side of car and 2 spanners , and removed cat insides with a hammer and impaller . This already makes a big difference to midrange and early on response of turbo boost . The other thing that also helps is a flat panel air filter , although I took this out because I'm scared of warranty . I think with the 1 cat out and above 98 RON we already at Jap spec performance . PPP will just be a bonus .

Ray,
Not much chance of selling the CAT second hand then I did simular thing to my B/Box (plasma cutter and Tig welder)as guessed some time ago it would be replaced on PPP. Not so much success as you though caused to much Turbulance/back pressure and lost 14bhp
Our PPP out very soon and but only rumours of performance. As all STi7's may give differing results on Rolling Road(as they loosen up with milage etc) And even differ between R/Roads. Prodrive may just give a range say 300-320Bhp and 280-350 Lbs torgue. THIS IS NOT A FIGURE QUOTE JUST AN EXAMPLE Sorry Ray got to be careful what you say here sometimes
Tony
Ps glad I haven't got to do all that running around with my car  but bet you have loads of fun with not so much congestion on the roads except the odd Elephant or have an off and get eaten by a Lion

Conspiracy theory:
-----------------
Subaru are waiting for a win in the WRC so they can launch a "UK300" model of the STI..... that comes with the PPP as standard, under some marketing blurb about "closest to rally car". STI UK owners will have to wait till the PPP car is sold out before they can get the upgrade....
So we are waiting for Makki to win!!!
What do you reckon???
