Help - What screwdriver to undo screws for the MAF sensor?

Question

I have the new bitty for the maf sensor...

but.. i did not look at the screws holding the sensor inplace before...

is there anything i can use to undo these screws, and do them back up again?

They're torque screw heads, aren't they? Ikkle stars? You should be able to pick up a set from Halfords, etc.

aye.. seems they have a small raised bit in the middle?

i have a set from halfords, but no hole for the centre bit

These are Torq. the bit in the middle
is the "tamper-proof" part.
you can get bits/drivers with a corresponding
hole in the middle.
it's not too difficult to 'remove' the bit
in the middle (i use a small bladed screwdriver)

If you have a look here, even a pair of pliers will get them off

know for definate where I can buy one?

know the correct size?

i understand they are security ones because of the wee bar in the middle.

Get a set of Torx bits, then they will all be covered - and yes, mention you need the security ones with the pin in the middle.

Any decent tool shop with have them - and they are also in the Screwfix and Machine Mart catalogues.

I bought a set of Torx bits to fit my HKS racing suction kit and they dont fit

bought a set on tuesday from halfords they are Security Torx. £15 i think for 6.

Packet says Professional Security Star Bit Sockets on Rail.

Black packet with green lable saying 3/8" Drive.

got the exact same from halfords at lunch time

worked a treat... MAF replaced.. .find out if any difference tomorrow morning
