having heard about possible surface hardness, and also the straightness of cams after regrinding, i just wondered if anyone had had any experiences??

I don't if you'll be able to get your legacy cams reground, as they probably wont stand replofiling with the (already bad enough) hydraulic followers.

Reground cams for impreza about £240, posssibly easier to get Sti heads and cams for about the same money, and solve the piston problem at the same time.

thats exactly what i was just thinking mate.

think i'll sack the cams off, and then at a later date replace the heads for sti ones, fully ported etc, also steel rods and flywheel.

p.s. yeah regrind is 250 the set inc vat, sti heads can be had for about 500 quid, and the decent buckets too

sti 2 heads £240 +vat if available.

legacy camshaft is different to impreza too

sti 2 heads have hydraulic lifters.

if you can get sti 3 or 4 heads for less than 1k, please show me where!
