Hydraulic lifter problem on legacy EJ20G from Canada please HELP
#1
hi my name is Christian Fafard and Im from Montreal Canada.
I bought a 1996 Legacy engine EJ20G from japan to fit in my impreza. I have a big problem because one hydraulic lifter (intake side) is not working and in Canada its imposible to find the tooling to remove the lifter end replace it....
So I realy need that tool to remove the lifter and I also need a new lifter.
I just need the part number of the hydraulic lifter assembly so I can order at my local subaru dealer.....
Im prety sure that it is the lifter because the engine make a noise and when I remove the camshaft a notice that one lifter dont have spring back and there was a gap of .5 mm between the cam shaft and the rocker....
So I think I need to replace the lifter assembly intake side( #3 piston)
I also need the procedure to install the new lifter.....
thanks
Christian

hi Cristian,
i have my legacy heads on the garage floor at the moment, and there is only one very small circlip that holds the lifter into the head.
however, be careful when you remove the clip as one of mine flew past my head onto the grass not found it
cheers
