Had a problem with my MY98 turbo the other week where it was losing power and was told to change the map sensor and solenoid valve, which i have just done.
It's still losing power though, so i was wondering if i needed to do anything else like reset the ecu. Or is it just something else that's wrong with it?
Cheers,
Mark.

No old thread - took it to Subaru and they said it would need new MAP sensor and solenoid valve and wanted £500 for it!!!
So phoned Grade A Subaru and they sent me both parts for £60!!!
Changed them both this morning, but still no change.
What happens is every now and then when i put my foot down, it starts to accelerate, then just loses power completely and i nearly hit the windscreen (normally around 2500rpm but sometimes higher).
It happens mainly when i'm cruising and then accelerate.
The first time i took it to subaru they said "the car thought it was going up a mountain!", so MAP sensor made sense.
Hope someone can help!
Cheers, Mark.

Well, that'll be overboost, then
Glad to hear that you went to Grade-A instead of a dealer
My guess here is that you want to clean your pipes... I forget what to do exactly, but someone else'll know.
