Off the crankcase outlet there is an upper hose which is short and goes into the top of the inlet pipe near the turbo. This I removed and replaced with the supplied hose. This is the one that was tight. Despite stretching it up for ages and removing some pipes around the turbo it was difficult to get on hence the plier incident. I ran the hose to one port of the catch can which is cable tied presently and quite secure. I might get a new bracket and attach it to the dump valve bracket when I've got more time. The other port on the catch can I vented with some hose to the lower area of the engine bay. I could later reroute the rocker cover vent lines and tee them to the crankcase line, but on disassembly the crankcase vent was far more oily.
It is actually an Evo 7 kit, and I might just have not bothered had I known how badly it would all fit
I could not source a suitable rubber bung to plug the hole left in the inlet pipe. The supplied plug was slightly too small and would not seal and would also potentially go INTO the inlet pipe 11mm bolt was a bit big as wa 7/16. 10mm did not thread in just pushed in, ended up wrapping the bolt thread of the 10mm with insulating tape - just one layer and it bit and sealed. Any more sensible suggestions for bunging this hole welcomed. Did think of using some silicone sealant or glue, but worried about debris and reversibility.
It is enticing to completely remove all the ports on the inlet pipe and use some plain (non-collapsing ??) Samco or similar. A straight piece with a smooth radius at the MAF end might have done the trick, but might have got squashed by the inlet manifold, and would need a second kink at the turbo compressor end. Any ideas again welcome. Buying an expensive inlet pipe with holes for the DV return, crankcase, rocker cover and wastegate solenoid return when I potentially don't need any of then seems daft?

If you are happy to vent to atmosphere (rather than closed loop with catch can) then you can just lead all 3 breathers directly from the engine to somewhere open. I routed them to the anti roll bar bracket under the starter motor. With 3 reasonable bore open pipes the internal air speed velocity is reduced to such a level that the oil no longer carries over as a mist
PS You don't want to fit EVO7 parts to your scoob..... might slow it down

Might be worth trying 22b... I know adam had one and I know mark uses one (unsure of the make)
Dont think many on here use them... (Can probably get the japanese translated though if you get really stuck)
Any Ideas on the design (Ie How it works so I can make one!)

It is just a can without baffles inside with a level indicator on the side and an inlet and outlet. Trying to decide if the outlet is vented back into the intake or not. Conflicting info.

Yes I shafted my finger when I slipped with the pliers getting the ill fitting hose onto the crankcase line. Also the plug for the inlet pipe was the wrong size and the mounting bracket was useless. Did not do the cam covers yet - can't see any oil in it yet. Seem to be able to get a fairly good amount of advance with the combination with the FMIC.

Can you keep the guys informed as to what bits are needed to fit this kit as supplied parts are indeed useless.
Where did you mount yours in the end?

on the 92 - 96 where is the crankcase breather located?
I am assuming there is just the two rocker cover breathers and the crankcase breather to worry about (And block the Inlet pipe)

The crankcase breather is located at the rear of the engine, just next to the turbo.
On later cars, it comes from the crankcase to the splitter which then goes one pipe to the air inlet pipe and the other to the inlet manifold.
Regards rocker covers, both rubber pipes join to a metal pipe which has a "T" off it, which then goes to the air inlet pipe.

I ordered the kit and the vendor was aware it was for a Subaru. The kit I received had Evo 7 on it, and really is not very good truth be told for the job. Neither is my finger

Wanna run that by me again ?
My MY00 UK car is not as extreme as JB's (the VF isn't a hybrid and I don't have a FMIC), so will this benefit me as well ?
If this also relates to the dump valve, mine recircs at low boost then vents to air at high pressure.

At least I don't chop off limbs when cars fall on top of me I might have stitched it, but there was not enough tissue to pull together but maybe you didn't want to know that
Theo it will be best to show you, it sounds as though you are even less of a mechanic than me No offence but I am not known to be good with spanners and oily bits either

i did however have a car bonnet slam shut on my little finger whilst it was on the edge of a 106 slam panel.. (yes the bonnet latched shut.)
Had a three hour operation on it and its still not right...
