boost retard
#1
Hi!
Does anyone have an idea what are the final timing values vs boost(in degree) from 0 to 15PSI for a WRX 1996? I replaced the original ECU by a ECU that I can program. The problem is that I don't have any dyno access and I tuned the ECU roughly. Result, I blown a piston. All other values in my computer are correct except timing retard values. If someone knows the final retard values vs boost, it will be helpfull for me and my engine!
Thanks,
Frank

Sort of, I have maps out of most the original ECU's except they don't map ignition timing against manifold pressure. They use load, but it might give you a sensible starting point as I know roughly what the pressure is at max load on the map.
Perhaps a much better start would be to look at the base Link map for the 96wrx, I can dig it out if you need it.
