Question

Hi ya all , from South Africa
a few quick questions on the above
1 ) on a std wrx turbo with 1 Bar boost ,will the FMIC still make the car lag or will that be sufficient to overcome power-loss ?
2 ) I was always under the impression that colder air = better performance ?
3 ) there is alot of conflicting views on FMIC's has anybody actually felt performance diiference on car before/after FMIC without changing turbo ?

Huzzit, I'm - from S. Africa too. (ps: have you joined the S.African scooby chat group?) As for the FMIC,
I dont think that it will lag too much as the OE turbo spools from very low but very hot, so the FMIC will do a lot of cooling, but I'm not sure if it can pump enough air to keep the FMIC adequately supplied. Usually the route is larger TMIC for the OE turbo, larger FMIC for a VF series turbo. I currently have a VF23 turbo (standard TMIC) and on Monday I'm taking it off (too much lag) and replacing it with the std TD04 and an uprated MRT TMIC - 50% larger than the OE unit. Will let you know how it goes - I live in JHB, so if you're around, you're more than welcome to go for a spin in my car.

Currently: 01 WRX PPP, full decat, VF23, sway bars, lowered, OZ Superleggera's.
As of Monday: 01 WRX PPP, full decat, wrapped pipes and MRT TMIC, sway bars, lowered, OZ Superleggera's.
