Probably done to death but I just wanted some helpful advice from people in here.
I would like to know what the best set up is to have for manual boost control. I have a UK MY98 with full decat scoobysport exhaust.
If I remember correctly the standard boost is 0.9 bar? Would it be safe to have a manual boost control that would be limited to say taking the boost to 1.3 bar.
Is 1.3 bar a safe level or can it be higher and still safe? My mechanic suggests anything over 1.5 bar without engine strengthening would be unadvisable.
What kit is needed? ie gauges, dawes device etc. Does the ecu need to be remapped for use with manual boost control? If so how does this work if u change the boost back and forth from 0.9 to 1.3 depending on the journeys you are doing?
How much is the standard setup normally including all the required parts including guages etc?
Anything else I have overlooked?
As you will have guessed by now I know nothing about mechanics so any advice would be much appreciated from people who have already made this modification.
