I have a MY01 UK300PPP, I have just bought the TSL 01/02 Centre Sections http://www.tsl-motorsport.co.uk/exhaust.html I heard this on one of their cars and it sounded deeper and more throaty (and a bit louder, maybe a couple of db louder at tickover) than my PPP setup. Will let you know as soon as I get it fitted.
Dave
PS £185+vat. DIY.

If I do replace the back box I'll let you know. I do have a standard WRX back box if anyone is interested?
btw - it is worth a trip to TSL, some nice local roads too. Keyworth is between M1 and A1 off the Kegworth exit of the M1. Their web site has a map.

Its known as a Thunder Storm . . .
This is not a Firestorm, but the silencer/box is EXACTLY the same as TSL use for their Fiirestorm... the difference is that TSL have a different company fit the pipework to the silencer and use a seperate clamp as a mounting. I have it with 3" bore pipework (which DOES fit onto OEM spec centres) and the rear most mounting brackets are welded to the box (TSL clamps around it)
Cost wise your looking to save around £100 compared to a Firestorm, and it still comes with a 25yr (or lifetime, not sure which) warranty.
Sound wise you wont find better . . . its just like a Firestorm, similar (better IMHO to the afterburner) and the quality is excellent.
For a group buy of 10 or more back boxes your looking at around the £250 mark . . . Compare that to the Firestorm or afterburner and you will save a fortune!!!!!!!
I've put a lot of work to this experienced exhaust company and can say hand on heart you wont be disappointed with it!
The final sound will depend on what the rest of your system is like... I'm fully de-catted and its awesome !!!!!!
I can give a personal demonstration to anyone within a reasonable distance of South Yorks, and if I can get a microphone sorted can record an MP3 file to upload...

Hi All.
Fitted the TSL centre sections. Vast improvement in torque and noticeable power increase as well. You especially notice it pulling away - no embarassing moments when you aint got enough revs going, it pulls away much quicker. Not tried any high flying yet, weather is to crappy.
Dazza - Sound is deeper throatier (Like OEM with Prodrive back box was OK) and its still not too intrusive or VERY loud. If you want LOUD you will have to change the Prodrive backbox and a full decat I think.
WRXBOB, I am in Sheffield, where are you?

Bob -
My in laws live in Tickhill and I am there twice a week. Hook up for a beer one day and compare "Notes" (ouch!! sorry) if you are around. I am also a frequent visitor to Carnells and Cusworths for my two wheel fun. Maybe see if Peccy can come along cos his is the LOUDest Scoob I've heard (on the road).
I just fitted Ds2500 pads yesterday, ran em in today. Did the proper burnish the disks job. They work really well.

Dave,
I go through Tickhill nearly everyday, its not far from my house!
If your at your inlaws when I'm passing through you'll know its me cos the windows will be rattling and pictures will fall off the walls
I can meet up for a beer no probs, we can compare size as well.
Thats back box bore size !!!!!

People have been refering to the centre section , by this do they mean the resonator just behing the back box? If so I have this section by TSL, Scorpion centre decat pipe and scorpion back box (Basically same as Prodrive b/box)
I still think that TSL's Firestorm is the best option, beautifully made etc and Trouser tells me the price will be coming down a bit in near future without compromise to quality etc.
Also TSL are going to have there own boxes made by Scorpion Paul tells me.
Apparently the firestorm will fit onto the 03 model, so don't get rid of your backbox if you change as you will need to refit so the firestorm can go on the new car
Cheers

Why not give the STi Genome backbox a try?
Fantastic looks, great finish, a nice growl without the intrusiveness.
Got on my STi Type R. It's the diggly danglies.
