Question

I have a UK STi7 which on full lock at slow speed is knocking through the steering (Similar feel to the old constant Velocity Joints going) also I am getting resistance when reversing.
Have just had 20,000 mile service done and the garage have said that the problem is the Fluidic Drive couplings which they are going to replace under warranty.
Can anyone tell me how these work so that I can understand what the problem is and why it would be giving me these symptoms.
Any info would be gratefully recieved
