about diffs
#1
Would you get a big difference in driving by changing the diffs from Euro-type-GT to let's say mechanical or RA style type diffs, I have driven an STI7 and compared with my regular turbo it feels a bit strange when cornering hard, normally when you lift in a corner, the car oversteers a little, but the sti7 pulled his front to the inside and the rear stays planted ????
There are some supliers, like quaife or so that can supllie after market diffs for a modest price, is it worth buying one of those, or stick to the original ?

I think that that is from having the STi 7 having a front diff, where your GT has an open front diff. Having a LSD front diff will help cornering, because more grip is always good. The STi also has more aggressive diffs, which are 1.5 way, rather then the GT's 1 way viscous coupling front and rear diffs.

Has the STi (old shape) type R front mechanical diff (or only rear?) Is it with or without LSD?
How I can upgrade LSD on mechanical diff? I have seen some ovals (named R160, R180). Maybe it is the tool. When you try to upgrade standard viscous coupling, you musr change whole diff. (i think)
