We have fitted one on a MY01, bloody pain in the *ss, better to remove the inlot manifold or else you should stuck with it all day. Maybe other people have a better idea but we had to cut the original plastig tube before wan could remove it, the place the samco one with a lot of patience and grease !!!
But it's definitly worth the effort : you feel the better response from your engine...

I also have a Samco one.
It's been working ok..and it haven't collapsed yet although some pretty high boost(+1.5bar) pressures due to the very cold temperatures(under -20deg C) here in Sweden.
When I fitted mine I left the manifold on and used a bit of violence and pulled out the stock inlet pipe.
One of the connection on the stock inlet pipe was smashed when pulling it under the manifold.
Otherwise that was a fast work to get it off
Who ever said that violence doesn't pay

GGR pipe is a Samco.
Considering the amount of trouble an Avo one (they make the BPM and MRT pipes) is to fit, and you can remove all the connection points to make sliding it under the manifold easier with this design, I really don't see fitting it without at least lifting the manifold is possible?
Certainly, you need to destroy the stock one to get it out!
I think they're only likely to collapse if you're still using the original airbox - or have a big restriction somewhere before the pipe (that's not confirmed though - and I went for the Avo one to be safe).
MRT were out of stock, but they have them now (got mine 2-3 weeks ago) - which means any UK MRT dealer orders should be fulfilled soon.

oops I forgot to say that..
I removed the connections on my Samco inlet pipe, to get in place.
Bob @what BHP or Boost pressure have you seen them start collapsing ??
The one I got looks as if were handmade.

I have come across cases of them collapsing at 1.3 bar on a UK car ... also killing boost on a 2.5 litre at 1.6 bar (fell to 0.9. It seems to be dependant on the setup of the car as much as a specific boot, since its vacuum or pressure reduction in the inlet pipe that causes it to collapse not boost in the engine.

I just bought an induction pipe from Scoobymania. Pity they sent me the wrong one( i need the one for an 80mm AFM, and they sent me the larger one...for a later car. Despite them measuring it when I asked. Makes you wonder really ) , but its very very similiar to the BPM one I bought from Macspower at the end of July, and about 2/3rds the price. No idea who manufactures it, but it seems to be good quality, and quite rigid to reduce any chance of collapse. Cost just over £200

That's the Avo/MRT/BPM pipe - who snapped off the boost solenoid return fitting?
The last fitting before turbo is the DV return.
I never got pricing direct from Avo (who make them) - but BPM was only a little more expensive than MRT. I paid around the 200 pound mark as well after shipping from Oz was included.

My car is a legacy, so regardless, all useless pipes will be blocked off. The small pipe fitting was already broken on opening the box.
But they pipe they supplied is for a 99-00 model, despite me asking for a 97-98 one, and telling I want the pipe to fit an 80mm AFM. As I said, they even measured it saying it was 80mm before they sent it. I just wonder what they measured it with????
It does look almost identical to the BPM one I got from Macspower in August, but the toal cost from them was £300....Guess who is a ripp off. This pipe just doesnt feel quite as rigid as the other one I got, although it was red, so perhaps had an additional layer of material???? or maybe the design has just changed slightly.
Either way, I ordered on friday afternoon, and it was here on saturday morning, so despite it being the wrong part, service was excellent.
