I went to look at a MY00 earlier. It had a non-standard airfilter which sounded pants, and would potentially increase my insurance. How much would I be looking at for a standard one??

I think you'll find that there are loads of folk here who have swapped the other way and have a spare standard filter kicking around their garage. Try a post on the wanted section.

May want to check what type of airfilter it was - some can damage the mass airflow sensor. You may want to get the sensor checked.
If you are in the market consider a MY99 - they are faster because of ECU differences. Insurance and on-paper performance the same. You lose the colour coded mirrors, door handles and silver dash.
Of course you can later change the ECU in the MY00.

not really interested in it being any faster than the MY00 is - my insurance is £3k as it is!!!
I'm just trying to get as late a model as I can (still under warranty time). Also i want Mica Red and they only did that in the last year of production.

The car's done 30k miles, and is £1000 less than other i have seen with 55k miles.
Do you think there is likely to be a problem at thi mileage - i will be taking it off as soon as i get it!
