Hi all,
can anyone tell me if theres a difference in the above???
Is a bleed valve fitted in the same way as a dawes device, im asking this because bleed valves seem to have 3 outlets, dawes devices only have 2?????
Many thanks, Justin

They fit the same way but a bleed valve normally has 3 nipples so you can connect a pipe to the bleed outlet. A dawes has a blled hole instead so you can't attach a pipe - it vents to atmosphere. The advantage of the dawes is that it will not supply pressure to the wastegate until it reaches a certain pressure (around 13psi, but adjustable), giving better turbo spool up.

A Dawes gives a step input rather than a ramp. Or was it the other way round. ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Basically its not going to be intantaneous but gradual which is a good thing. Less chance of being too lean when boosting.

The dawes device is a pressure relief valve and works by stopping the wastegate from opening until the set pressure is reached . You can make one like i did , the dawes device is imported from america , but everything can be had over here .
