Many Many thanks to Bob Rawle of BRD who fitted and mapped my new Link ECU on Saturday.
Most fun it was, going up and down the road. Bob wearing his det cans, video camera stuck to the back window and me smirking in the driving seat
trying to hold the speed / revs / boost steady and watch the road at the same time was quite something
Oh and doesn't it half shift now
I was waiting to see if Bob would ask, if I wanted a ride <woof, woof> in his STi...but it was not to be
If there is a man who can map a car, Bob is he....but most of you know that anyway
Thanks for the eye opener Bob.

can you see the speedo
glad I wasn't the jay walker....LOL, have you watched a film called "Pushing tin".
(the bit where the bloke stands in the flight path of the landing Jumbo)
I was that close, I think I may have spun him around in the vortex from the rear wing

Fuzz,
I'm on the verge of booking in for the full link ECU.....how do you rate the upgrade, how much boost does the car run now? Do you know how much power increase this upgrade has given you?
Looks like your having fun!!!
Dom.

Fuzz,
Bobs a top bloke, had my car re-mapped in the a darkness of sat late afternoon, made me laugh with Bob "Just floor it!!" as we're flying round that left hand bend, trying to keep my eye on the road and the boost gauge at the same time lol.
You need to take a ride in Bobs car

Yeah get rid of the road name pronto.. otherwise my future mapping sessions may be in peril!
Had a mapping session on Sunday.. my car is now running nicely following an engine upgrade... will see what it gets at Well Lane on the 26th but I'm hoping for a reasonable number
Bob took me for a spin and scared me to death..... in my own car
Excellent stuff

As requested
less attention to the thread, if you had e-mailed me that instead
mind you, the road is a rather long road, if you know what I mean...

What are you expecting Steve... you in the first week slot or the second??
Cant wait for mine if the clutch holds.... better take it steady...
Since my last session I can now honsestly state that the power once the turbo kicks in is 'brutal''.. so I should get 361bhp

Andy, how fecking hard are you driving that car. I average about 240 with my setup, which you should know, and if try i can get 300.
The 240 driving pretty hard on A and B roads, cruising at 85 on motorways etc. 300 is using the power WHEN its needed.
Suppose i had a quick learner with my new setup, went to the Rally and filled up 6 (six) times to do just over 1000 miles.
Keep enjoying it.

200miles per tank is roughly what i get on normal use (mostly not on boost to work and back...) on boost/VTA-ing it drops a lot more to 100miles or so - but i get a on my face anywayz

It's been a while and another post reminded me of it, So it thought I'd post up the RR session plotted with the "before" and "after".......
I think I can safely say it was worth every penny

Cheers for that, yes I missed that guy, just hung onto the laptop while you took avoiding action. Couldn't believe he just walked straight across without a care in the world.
Edited to add no problem for a trip out in mine sometime, would have asked but thought you were wanting to "go play".
