When selecting fourth gear above 4000 rpm it can be a bit sticky, slightly harder to select then the rest of the gears, any ideas as to what might be up or is it just me worrying about nothing??
It's a standard V5 STi..

Might be worth your while changing the gearbox oil.. might not solve it but worth a try as the gearboxes seem quite sensitive to oil.

Try Castrol Syntrax or Moutol Gear oil etc.. castrol comes in 1litres bottles.. not sure about the motuol.
Castrol's website is http://www.castrolclassicoils.co.uk/index.html

Around 4litres and the dip stick is the filler as well as the dipstick.. drain plug is the 21mm bolt on the bottom of the box near the front.

Agree with JGM,i changed the gearbox oil on my MY01 last week 5k ahead of the advised schedule and it has made such a difference in the FEEL of the gearbox, i know i'm not suffering selection problems like yourself but you should see the build up of bits on the drain plug when you remove it.(It has a magnet on it)

I too put Castrol in and it is quality.
