I'm trying to build up a database/table of the EJ207 engine codes for the new age Impreza. I'm looking for both the export (UK and AUS/NZ), as well as the JDM codes. I have built a table of the JDM model codes, and am working on one for the UK. Any help with that would be awesome!

For the JDM catagory: there are the following model years:

MY01 - First production year, known as GxxA (i.e. GDAA, GDBA, GGAA, etc) Also called Version 7

MY02 - Second production year, known as GxxB (i.e. GDAB, GDBB, GGAB, etc) Also called Version 7

MY03 - Third production year, updated body sytle, twin scroll turbo on the sti. Known as GxxC (GDAB, etc). Also called Version 8.

What I am looking for!

I'm trying to map out the engine codes. The engine code can be found in two places. First is a small white sticker on the lower left passenger side of the black plastic timeing belt covers (front of the engine). The second stick is at the bottom back side of the drivers side head. You can see it from the top just a bit, and read it with a mirror (it is on the back side, just all the way down).

The Number on either sticker will look like:

EJ207DW3CR-xxx yyyyyy zzzzz

The yyyyyy is the block serial number, which is also stamped into the block on the right back top side, where it mates with the tranny. On the block it will usually be Byyyyyy.

So, could any/all of you with STI EJ207 motors read this number and email/post back, also let me know if you know what MY it is. I'll keep the chart below updated with all of the info I can find! This will be VERY helpful for anyone who is considering doing an STI swap in the future.

I'll post all of the info here, as well as on my website!

BTW: I just realized that this information is available on the metal VIN plate under the hood! I'm just looking for the Model code (GDAxxx, GDBxxx), and the engine code (EJ20xxxxxxxxxx).

I would especially like to see numbers from the STI UK, UK WRX, and the Prodrive UK!

Thanks in advance! Jeff Sponaugle

Actually, I found some of this information at:
http://www.iwoc.co.uk/ukcode.html

However, is there anyone else with any other Model Year 02 and 03 STi and Non STI that can contribute. I will forward all information back to the author of that site, as well as add it to my site.

Thanks!

Jeff
