I have a 2.0 sport with 78k on the clock and have a few of questions. Firstly, has anyone used the injector cleaners that you add to a tank of fuel? Are they any good? Also, would there be any benefit in using a higher octane fuel such as Optimax? Most of the threads in this area centre around the turbo. Lastly, what are the advantages/disadvantages in fitting an induction kit/exhaust apart from the hole in my wallet and a modest increase in power. Cheers guys.

Think you may get better VFM by getting the injectors taken out, cleaned and flow balanced rather than the shot in the tank jobs.

Give TSL (0115 9377200) a ring you are on your doorstep as they do such a clean for about £60.

You may just want to check the 3 rubber seals on each of the injectors as they can overtime perish, it would be a good idea to change thouse.

And its well worth getting the injectors flow tested as they might not all be injecting the same amount of fuel. In turn this could lead to misfire problems....

I wacked some injector cleaner through mine 5 weeks ago and i'm suprised to say my fuel consumption has increased.
Before it, i would get 20-22mpg, i now cosistently get into the 23's. I've not noticed any of the claimed power gains though, but i never thought i would anyway

Yes as Butty said, the only way to do it properly is to remove them.
