have whacked in a cold air feed on my MY99 UK Turbo from behind the orange wedge onto my GGR induction kit (the great big k&n cone) and reset the ecu with my SECS monitor and took it out for a blast, sure i can feel a tiny bit more pull on WOT (maybe??????????) but when i took it easy on way home (40mph in 5th) i kept getting a jumpy, hesitation in engine kind of thing. i have a knocklink (only 1st green light so no worries there) and a lambdalink (on the far green light on WOT) but when piddling around town noticed that when the ecu is in its closed loop mode (?) it didn`t do as much knight rider type stuff as it did before i fitted the feed.
Now then.........the question...........
is it that i`m now getting colder and (possibly) too much air in the filter now that the ecu getting itself a bit confused?
Am planning a John Banks special as soon as i can get my paws on a AVO/MRT/BPM inlet pipe so if all i need is a re-map, then its in the pipeline!
p.s. now have samco hoses and STi V intercooler fitted, but they`ve been on for 2 days and there was no funny business before the cold air feed was fitted.
Cheers in hope and advance

Could be one of the following:
Coilpacks
MAF
and (unlikely) Lambda.
Given the symptoms it sounds like you've got a dodgy coilpack / sparkplug, but given that you've been messing with the air intake ( ) it could be time for a new MAF. If possible, see if you can borrow a MAF to test it.
Also probably worth changing your coilpacks and sparkplugs anyway.
Just a suggestion?
Edited to add: Oops: just re-read you have an MY99, so probably NOT the coilpacks: more likely to be an HT lead. (Probably on the side near the air intake where you likely moved them around whilst adapting your intake)
