Unhappy

Hi All,

just recently i have noticed that when i lift off the throttle after a run with constant rpm i get a sligh surge/ pulse before the car drops down the rpm..

also i have noticed occasionally that the rpms stay high say
1200 ish if i blim the throttle it somtimes comes down,,

if i slowdown without disengaging the clutch the engine rpm drops ok

i thought maybe dirty throttle body butterfly at manifold or just a clean and lube of the linkages

my96 wag 96k

new plugs last week a/f and oil and it had the same symptoms before the service bits

any help would be appreciated

oh and who is the cheapest for rear shoes / pads etc

fancy doing them next week (hols)

I would give it a good clean, as it could be the throttle position sensor not working correctly.

Most likely a sticking or worn idle speed control valve. Take the cap off and see if it is free to twist with light finger pressure. If not, it may be cleanable or may need replacing.
