Driveshaft problem on MY03???
#1
Ok, I have a very annoying creaking noise that comes from the front left/right axle of my WRX03 when turn the steering whell on both directions and usualy more noisy at low speeds, hard tarmac and reverse.
I visited last two weeks two Subaru dealers that both diagnosed noisy plastic driveshaft boots, when one boot is compressed and I turn the steering wheel to the other side it decompressed with this funny creaking noise.
They told me that the new driveshaft boots on both WRX, STI and Forester "03 are from plastic and not rubbers (<MY02 have rubber boots that tend to split - usualy on Foresters) in order to avoid the above phenomenon. I can accept this excuse but what if the noise is so strong that every passenger can hear it and I feel it always under the floor?
Has anybody had similar problems and what was the official response from his Subaru service, is this common problem or something else and should I worry?

I have WRX 03 with 18 PPf7 and no noise at all from drive shaft boot area, suggest that you ask to take their demo out and when it makes no noise you can tell them that they dont all make the noise and can they now put yours right!
