split second squeak when i clog it

legacy 99 2.5 gx saloon. only had it 2 days but when im driving slow and put my foot down i hear a squeak for a split second, i think its a belt but cos im new to scooby's i dont wanna go undoing bolts for the "lets just see" factor..anyone help or advise? many thanx in advance .CK.

To see if it's the alternator belt slipping try switching a lot of high drain elecrical items on (heated screen, full headlights etc) and see if it's worse. Also, did you have the air-con on at the time? If so it could be the air-con belt.

Would be interested in what you find, my wifes MY00 2.5GX estate has EXACTLY the same symptoms, its been doing in it for a couple of months so i wouldnt worry too much. Someone at work reconned it could be the clutch release bearing. I dont understand this argument and recon its more likely the alternator belt.
