Started getting a slight knock from the front of my MY94 Uk scoob under hard acceleration & the only thing i can find play in is the front driveshafts (gearbox Side) they are quite wobbly & rattly / Knocky. I take it that there should be a certain amount of freeplay, But how much is acceptable ??
The car has covered 96000 & is pushing out far more power / torque than standard 276 Bhp & 269 Torque. If this is the Prob any suggestions on where from & what to purchase. I.e Uprated ones ??
Thanks
Dean

I doubt this would be your problem.
You could replace the pins that hold the driveshafts on if you were really worried about there loseness.
Might be worth looking at engine mounts..

JGM,
Had a look at those & couldn't replicate the Knock but then me & a Jemmy Bar & My right foot will put more pressure on them im sure, Perhaps i will have to let it develop for a while. When you say replace the Pins, I take it that you mean the roll pins ?.
Cheers Dean

Yes roll pins.. cannot see it making any difference though..
I have 129k miles and not a huge amount of play in the front driveshafts to perhaps it could be them.. just cannot see it making a knocking noise..
could be exhaust knocking as engine moves.. or something along those lines..
