I've seen what looks like a rather nice turbo in my local breakers. Only problem with it is that one of the three downpipe mount studs has snapped flush with the mounting face.

Before I chuck some money over, how difficult are these things to get out? Will some heat, lubrication and a stud remover shift it, or am I looking at drilling it?

As it'll be easy to get to..

drill pilot hole nice and central, then get bigger until just under size of bolt. Get a small punch and hammer the top away from the thread of the exh housing, it should come undone easy by tapping round whats left of the stud.

Dont expect it to drill easily. Any good machine chop sould be able to remove it, using various methods, although doing as already mentioned is worth a try.

Cheers fellas, just about what I thought.

Still, when it comes to negotiating with the scrappers, it's gonna be a complete nightmare getting it out...
