Have Haltech installed. Need to know which AFR uses mappers in UK in low loads and low revs. Forexample highway cruising etc. I try to decrease to lean mixture but dont know where is safe limit. Im talking about 1000-3500 revs, -0,8kpa to 0,3 kpa (bars) and below 25% throttle position.
1) Im not sure about my selected range for correction. I know that low revs are rich for stable iddling, middles are lean for better consumption and high loads are rich for safety. But dont know exactly where is the borders.
2) Dont know about safe AFR limit in each area.
3) Which is Lambda voltage when the lambda value=1. I read something around 720mV.
I have Haltech E6K but the basic is the same like GEMS, Motec, Link etc.

14.7:1 should be safe enough in vacuum areas, typically richening to say 11.x:1 on full boost. You can often lean out the cruise areas to say 15.5:1 to get better economy, they tend to idle better at about 13:1.
Your lambda sensor should give a very sharp transition from about 400 to 600mV (approx) at stoich. It is the transition that is important not the actual voltage.
Be guided by EGT also.

[disclaimer]Narrow band lambda sensors are unreliable do not take these with more than a pinch of salt[/disclaimer]
mV %CO AFR
<600 <1% >15:1
720 1% 14:1
760 2%
800 3%
840 5% 13:1
860 6% 12:1
880 >8% 11:1
mV %CO AFR
<600 <1% >15:1
720 1% 14:1
760 2%
800 3%
840 5% 13:1
860 6% 12:1

Last evening I had datalog session but my logs look little bit strange...........
1) cruising on highway, 18% throttle, 0,4kpa - AF= around 790-820 mV
2) dragrace with full boost (79% 1.3 kpa - 750-790 mV)
I dont understand. ???

My opinion - wrong maps :-) (too rich in low loads and little bitlean in full boost.
I will try to borrow wideband motec or similar lambda. And will try to remap it myself
Seen motec lambda. Display shows lambda values. 1 means 14,7:1 AFR
Which relation is between motec readings (1, 0,84, 1,1 etc. on the display - ) and AF mixture or mV voltage or %CO?

Hi John,
Out of interest, how are you controlling idle speed at 13:1 (lambda 0.88)? I have open loop fuelling for idle and it sits pretty happily in the range ~lambda 1.05 to 1.03. I'm suprised you are needing to run so much more rich to get an idle.
Cheers,
Moray

JECS seems able to maintain an idle speed anywhere from 10:1 to 19:1. It just idles sweeter a bit richer, I haven't tried lots of combinations, maybe I should try it a bit nearer to 14:1.

Now Im playing with injector values. I changed values to lean mixture but not enough. My values is now forexample here:
3500 revs
0 bar - 3,792 ms
-0,1 - 3,488 ms
-0,2 - 3,2 ms
-0,3 - 2,896 ms
- 0,4 - 2,4 ms
-0,5 - 1,888 ms
-0,6 - 1,440 ms
-0,7 - 0,976 ms
Are these figures in relation with your maps?
I have 440 ccm injectors.
Thanks

Difficult to compare as every ECU is mapped differently. The only correct value is one set from a lambda sensor (ideally wideband). You cannot compare injector opening times between cars with different fuel systems and breathing modifications. Even different ECUs may report opening times differently.

O.K.
But the my fuelling graph looks linear from -1bar to +2bar. With simmilar increase between bars.
(x-axe load (boost) y-axe injector opening time). Im not sure it is good.

Very "Motec" ish but not enough, need to see a wot run from 2000 to 8000 rpm which would show fueling, also log cruise from say 2500 to 5500 rpm at zero boost and minus 0.25 bar vac.
