Look here for a good buy on JE pistons and Eagle H beam steel rods
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...hreadid=385429

"Forged JE pistons, H beam rods, wrist pins, locks and plasma moly rings; $759"

Thats only £470 !!!! Even if it cost £100 to ship (which it won't) it looks like an excellent buy to me

I can't get onto the thread that Andy put up, just tried it again, you have had the same thought as me... If you are going to do it, do it properly....
Once I get onto thread will send E mail to enquire.
Am seeing my friend in October so can possibly pick them up!
Hand luggage perhaps?????

Nice one Steve That works out approx £500 plus any vat you get hit for, cheap way to bulletproof your motor

Let me know when they arrive, I wouldn't mind a look at them

Still not arrived!!
Cord these are going in an open deck block which will be strong enough for this kit, I have a closed deck block in the car at the moment which will have a stroker kit put in it once the above has been finished.
I,m looking for a reliable 350bhp from the open deck and about 450 from the closed deck with a 2.2 stoker kit in it.
However.... I am still looking for a 2.5 litre lump or info on how to get the 2.2 to 2.5... Is it just the crank?

2.5 is larger bore & stoke..

2.2 could possibly be gained by stroke alone.. but piston rings /oil control rings will probably go past gudgeon pin access hole unless the block is re-linered.

You would need a custom crank and custom rods or extremely thick headgasket to stroke to 2.2l. It's not just a case of slapping in am ej25 crank and finding you have a 2.2l.

My shiny parts arrived

They are well light too. I can't wait for the rebuild to be complete.

Hi Caz,

They certainly do look shiney! Have you weighed a piston and a rod to see how much lighter they are than the standard items?

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they end up costing you, and how long did you have to wait until they arrived?

Looks like the gudgeon pin clips are "Spirolocks". If they are, make sure they're fitted correctly. They are very good, but a SOB to fit.

Mark,

The clips for the gudgeon pins are standard circlips so shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Moray

According to the spec sheet, each piston weighs 375 grams. I don't have the weight yet for the rods but will find out soon.

Well the total cost was.......$834 dollars = £517.79
Customs cost £118.86

Grand total = £636.65
