Question

OK so I changed the plugs and Ive got a misfire. Chances are one coil pack is dodgy, whats the cheapest way to fix?? - buy one coil pack (where, how much) and then fit it to each cylinder until problem goes away?

Or should I buy all 4 new coil packs? or should I trust subaru dealer?

Tricky one - cheapest is best - please help - any advice much appreciated

just replace all coils with 4 BOSCH HEC 716 coils, works a treat no more problems, in Aust they sell for $50-$60 each......

I tried replacing one.. thought I would move it until I solved the problem..

Ran so much better after first switfch but problem still existed

So I replaced all four..

Bosch coils is a good option.. delay was too long for me though

No the bosch coil pack are not a straight swap, but they are very easy to fit as you need to do some wiring. The bosch coil packs do not sit on top of the spark plug so you will need some spark plug leads and find a suitable place to bolt them. I have fitted these to my 94 WRX and it took me about 3 hours.

You say you have changed the spark plugs. Which spark plugs have you used as I changed mine for some Champions and the car misfired, replaced the old NGK ones ran fine. Would really recommend that you use the NGKPFR7 as they are a good plug.

What happens to the bolt hole in the camcover used to hold the coil inplace ?
Does oil leak out if left uncovered ?
