I've just got my car back from RRR with a lovely P1 gearbox, drive shafts and rear diff...

The car's an MY00 UK Turbo with full decat and panel filter.

And now it accelerates quite a bit faster...!!

To say I'm loving it is a bit of an understatement...!!!

Thanks Dal

Yeah, I know...! But I didn't want to be too silly. I still want to be able to do a bit of high speed motorway cruising without revving the nuts off it too hard!! LOL

yes it's rather expensive. I guess it's a bit of a pain, but I didn't do it so don't really know.

Gearbox, rear diff, rear drive shaft and pins for the front drive shaft all had to be replaced...!!

How close is the P1 box to the classic RA ratios?
I want to fit the short geared RA box/diff to my STiV3 to get it to go better(!)Anyone know?
Graham.

the P1 gearbox should have the same ratios as the normal sti or UK gearbox.

the difference is that the rear diff may well be plated and the final drive ratio is 4.44.

With this in mind I do hope you have swapped your speedo for a P1 speedo as the speed pulse sensor from the gearbox is specific to the standard final drive of the car, and exits from the output shaft and therefore does not take final drive into the equation.

This means your milegae and speedo will be out by a factor of 4.44/3.9.

Protech in bristol can sort this for you by putting a pulse converter in line for you. think they charge £30 an hour.
