funny cluch feel

hi all
here is one for ya's
have you ever had this
if you give it some stick the cluch pedal sinks to aprox half a pedal
doesnt stop working any just pedal depth sinks
it feels funny it sinks and stayes lower for a while then slowly returns to the full hight ????
any ideas
i just had a helix one fitted while the engine was out ???

Have had this on mine, when I was using the car once a week.. then when returned to daily use it went..
Could be to do with the linkage above the pedal. You can adjust the pedal height with a couple of spanners and also worth oiling the moving parts etc..
There is like a weight and spring on the clutch release fork on top of the gearbox.. if it keeps doing it replace the spring with a shorter one or pad it out with washers.
The spring could also be missing but if it works some of the time then I doubt it.. but worth checking.. it is under the intercooler..

Get an assistant (preferably in a bikini) to press and depress the clutch pedal.. look under the intercooler and you should see something moving.. that is the top of the release fork.
It moves towards the bulk head when clutch pedal is pressed.. there should be a spring on the front of it attached to the engine... if it is not there then that is the problem.
The best picture I have is not much use..
the release fork is the bit with like the gearstick gaitor..
You car may not have the rubber cube weight on the top.
You can see the small hole in the top where the spring attaches..
