DAWES DEVICE OR LAMDALINK?? ADV PLS..
#1
Hi all,, fitted a Knocklink on the STI on the weekend which went pretty smoothly. Did'nt need to remove the IC but used a 1/2" ratchet with ext and a U-J type adaptor. Would recommend this approach as it saves mich time.
Anyway, next step is a AFM display kit. either a Dawes Device or LambdaLink, any1 know which is better/easier to fit/more effective etc...
any advice appriciated.
Cheers

Easy mate...how's it going...I can see you're tarting the interior up now (in a functional way!!)
Are you gonna get some gauges in? I put a boost gauge in on mine on saturday and boy do I wish I did it before...you can see exactly what the turbo is doing!

I just went for the Dawes and am going to research on how / where to fit it. Its pretty small which is nice, as I found the Lambda link to be pretty ugly. Autometer do a very nice AFR gauge, about £50 but needs a pod. I had one on my last car and it has quite a funky display. www.realsteel.co.uk sell them.
Not sure which is better, but the Dawes is popular on here and well priced.

Depends on how much info you want displayed. I use the Autometer version, which is split into 20 segments (4 lean, 10 stoich, 6 rich) of 0.05v increments up to 1.0v, around the edge of the display.
I personally like to see what's going on all the time, rather than just at WOT, but it's personal preference really. I'm sure some will say it's distracting when running closed loop, as the lights flicker backwards and forwards across the stoich zone...
Regards,
Ade.

Can anyone tell me which wire to splice into to get the Autometer AFR to work, i have a MY01 S Turbo forester, ive reda that you splice it into pin21 on the ecu, the white wire with silver dots or can you splice into the wires coming off the sensor.
Pics or advice would really help ASAP
