Cosmetic Exhausts
#1
I'm soon to be taking delivery of my new Scooby (MY00) .
I'm looking for a new backbox (3" round would be nice) that will improve the looks, without increasing the BHP. The reason for the reluctance for performance increase is 'cos I'm 23 and the insurance is high enough as it is.
Do all back boxes increase BHP? And do all backboxes effect insurance premiums?

I guess most aftermarket backboxes will increase the bhp slightly. This is due to them being free flowing.
You wouldn't notice it, although it's easy to think there is a performance increase due to the increase in noise.
Not all policies will make an increase due to slight modifications, but double check the policy with your broker.
Some policies will give you a like for like replacement, but some will only replace it with the standard item.
Have a look at Paul Ganders web site, there is lot's of information about insurance there!
