What's the best ? panel filter or induction kit ?
#1
After browsing thousand lines of informations on the net about panel filter and induction kit for the scooby, i still not know what is the best between
- a panel filter without the resonating box but with a direct connection to the front bumper to get fresh air
- an induction kit with the same direct connection to the front bumper
So, could somebody tell me ?
Thanks,
Mike.

Bone of contention really....
Replacement panel filter SHOULD give better results, as the filter is protected (by a certain degree) from the hot air of the engine. It is also having a direct feed of COLD air, from the original air duct!
Cone filter sounds better, but in theory will be sucking in warmer air, effected by engine bay temps!!!
ALSO: Most cone filters give you LESS surface area then a panel filter!!!!
Both will not give you mega BHP gains - only by a couple of BHP, if your lucky - If you have the money and want the MEGA induction noise go for a HKS Super Power Flow. I have heard the Blitz ones, and IMHO they sound cack.

Ah, small mix-up here I think. Panel filter / Cone filter - not much difference I think, Shaun right in what he says.
Induction Kit - different matter (I think?). Supposedly gives the same increase again (another couple of bhp and markedly better pick-up), but is noiser - more hiss/woosh type noises. I've got a Unifilter panel filter which is no noisier but definitely improves the pick-up (and mpg a tad, remarkably!
