Hello all, just bought my WRX a couple of weeks ago and think it's great, but a little concerned about a rattling noise coming from around the turbo. I only hear it when the turbo gets hot, and is on near full boost. Thought it may be the heat shield so removed it to check for cracks. Seems OK. Also noticed that the intercooler is contaminated with oil, is this normal?
The car is a my93 wrx, would be greatful for any ideas.

Rob,
Did you leave the heatshild off for a few days to see if the noise went away?
If it is still there have a look at the dip stick for the gearbox which is down that side. Mine spun round and got stuck under the intercooler which then rattled under boost.

The dip stick is not touching anything, but I will try leaving the heat shield off as you suggest.
Cheers Paul.
