Unhappy

As the title says my exhaust seems to have a fist sized bunch of wire wool that has worked it's way to the back of the exhaust.

Should I ram it back in or take it back to the garage?

Any thoughts/advice appreciated.

Jerome.

Either that, or the air filter has been sucked right through the engine and out of the exhaust...

Sounds more like it's come from the inside of the silencer than the cat. The contents of the cat are more of a honeycomb.

I had black wire wool fall out the exhaust of a non-catted Astra I used to own. I just pulled it all out and left it -- didn't seem to make any difference.

It's called blowout, it is the material used to dampen the sound in the silencer/back box.

...and dampening the sound is the last thing we want to do. See -- I told you it was nothing to worry about
