Blitz - again....
#1
Hi,
I have finally managed to get the 'correct'
Blitz induction kit for my MY94 WRX.
However... I have no instructions and no
fitting kit (nuts/bolts). Racelogic claim
that this is due to Blitz themselves not
having the appropriate parts.
So....
1. Has anyone got instructions they could
scan or a source on the net?
2. Can I use the existing bolts etc when
fitting the kit?
3. I have two brackets, I understand one is
for the Impreza (right-angled) and the other
is for a Legacy. How do these attach the
filter itself, do they connect to the metal
backplate?
I know there has been loads of comments about
these but I am really p*ssed off. It's been
nothing but hassle getting the 'right' bit
and when it finally arrives it's not complete. sigh.
Hope it makes a difference in performance
after all this!
thanks,
Matt.
p.s. please e-mail me at
mailto:matt@insnet.net

Matt, i had the same trouble with mine, i had instructions but they were in japanese.
And i only had one bracket and that was for the legacy , so i modded it and fixed it from the blitz filter to the wing where the air feed comes in . but that was not enough to hold it solid so i had make another bracket from the filter again, but the bottom corner of it this time , and attached it to the chassis in the engine bay and used the original hole and bolt that the old air box used.
The good point of all of this is when the dump vavle vents it is a great noise.

nick,
thanks for the reply. so where does the
bracket attach to the filter, the plate
that bolts to the air flow meter? if so
how! does the bracket go 'inline', i.e.
between the air flow meter and the filter?

Matt,
I got mine from Power Engineering and it had the fitting instructions, they were in Japanese but you can make out what needs to go where from the picture!
I've still got the instructions(somewhere!)I'll dig them out and see if I can get them scanned in and mail them to you.
It's my understanding that the earlier kits only had one bracket, but there was problems with damaged MAFFs due to vibration(or something along those lines??)so they now have two brackets. The instructions I have detail where to attach them etc.
If I remember correctly I did use some of the existing bolts? But then I'm on my second bottle of wine tonight so I might be talking utter rubbish!
I'll go with Nick on the last point - great sound!

Matt,
Check your email. Should be there.
Forgot to say, I've got a 94 WRX also, so they are the correct fitting instructions.
Justin.

Matt, when you bolt the plate to the air flow meter the bolts stick though abit and thats were you attach the bracket, then you attach the bracket to the air feed coming from the inner wing, theres a bolt at the top of the pipe.
Like i said before you might have to mod the bracket , thats if you have the straightish bracket , but if you have the other type it bolts under the filter and attaches to the chassis in the exisiting hole ,
hope this makes sense,
nick.
