Question

I currently have a 98MY Terzo Impreza with a Scoobysport Back Box, the rest of the exhaust system is standard.

I am looking at purchasing the T75 downpipe and centre section (with CAT).

I was wondering if anyone could answer my questions:-

1. Will a car with the T75 d/p, centre (with cat) and SS b/b pass the emissions tests on a MOT?

2. Does the T75 system make the car much louder (inside and out)

3. Has anyone had the modification done and how do you rate it??

4. Are there any other or better systems that will get a 98MY UK car through emissions tests on a MOT?

6. What BHP / torque increase do you get with the T75 system?

7. PE say on their web site that the T65 downpipe works well on a WRX, however for high power modified STI's the T75 is the ultimate... Do you think it would better to go for the T65 and centre section (with CAT) on a 242BHP Terzo???

8. There is some talk of the 3" T75 system actually decreasing power or torque as opposed to a 2.5" system. Anyone heard of this??? - comments appreciated..

9. Would a UK 98MY car with a SS d/p, PE T75 centre section (with CAT) and a SS b/b pass MOT emissions regulations??

I would be very grateful if anyone could shed any light on my questions...

Cheers
Mark

I can answer some of your questions.
1. It will easily pass the MOT.
2. It will make it louder, but not as loud as a full catless system. You will also notice the turbo whistle a lot more.
3. Not me.
4. The PE system is the only one I know of that gives a cat option.
5. Wha happened to question 5?
6. You probably will not get more than 5-10bhp out of any system. What you will notice is quicker turbo spin up and increased high end pull. Although the gains will be small on a dyno, they will feel big on the road.
7. My own personal choice would be Scooby Sport downpipe and PE centre with cat - only because I have not had the PE downpipe.
8. Not sure on the facts so I will not comment.
9. Yes, easily.

hope this helps

I forgot something.
If you go for a downpipe and keep your existing centr section you may still pass an emissions test. The standard centre section contains a small cat (the big cat is in the d/p), and several people on this board have passed MOT's with just this. The secret is to take your car to the MOT centre fully warmed up and get them to do the test straight away. A cold car will definately fail with just the standard centre cat in place.

Cheers Orville,

Has anyone had fitted the following combinations:-

Scoobysport Downpipe, PE T75 Centre Section (with CAT) and a Scoobysport back box??

If so let me know how you rate this modification...

Thanks

I have the PE T75 downpipe, magnexs centre and ss backbox.

Bit loud, but I am happy with the response that it gives.

Time is coming to change soon. Bigger turbo and all that!!!!

I have a full de-catted PE T75 system and in my experience it is not much louder compared to what it was with only the Prodrive back box. And the noise is goooood!!!
I also installed a Blitz induction kit at the same time and my torque increased from 280 to 330 Nm.
I think it is worth it, turbo spins up much quicker.
If you have any more questions you can mail me offline...

Mark

I have the same spec on my MY00 albeit without cat (T75 downpipe + centre + SS Backbox)

Very happy with it - sounds great - performance is much improved as the car pulls for longer. FYI I also have the Blitz air induction kit.

Rich.
