Cool

I fitted a front Quaife ATB to my STI 3 RA V-Limited... Now it turns in like an EVO VI.

Thumbs up

I read mostly everywhere that impreza is a better handling car so why are you saying now it is like evo6.Your car is older than evo6 i think because of it .22b and p1 are better handling car i think and the 22b is unbeatable in turn in.
99-00 RAs have front lsds??

2fast4u,

A few questions in response:

Have you actually driven an Evo VI?

Have you driven any car with a front LSD?

Have you driven an Impreza?

Have you driven a 22b?

Have you driven an impreza with more than 300bhp/300ftlb, prodrive ex-works suspension and a front helical-gear based LSD unit?

Do you know how a Helical-gear mechanical LSD unit differs from a clutch or viscious type LSD in operation?

Is that 2manyquestions4u?

Moray,

What do you think of the Quaiffe unit ?

Are you going to do the rear as well ?

Has the braking improved - I remember reading somewhere that it should... ?

Thanks

Gavin

Cool

Sorry for the delay guys, I was waiting for a reply from 2fast4u, but I suspect I may have scared him off.

Anyway...

Gavin,

The Quaife works very well. (See David bit... )

I may do the rear one someday, if/when my STI diff dies... i don't expect as much benefit as I gained at the front, plus the STI viscious diff will provide some torque transfer in the very few cases where the ATB won't.

I didn't really make a point of looking at the braking side of things... I believe I still had Scoobysports fully-warping disc setup on my car at the time we fitted the discs, so the brakes were not good anyway.

David,

The atb doesn't do much on a trailing throttle... the car can still be made to understeer... but if you put more torque down (right foot) the ATB comes into play and drags the front of the car into the bend... strange feeling at first, like oversteer, but from the front.

2fast4u,

Please come back and play, I was genuinely interested in what expirience you had with these things... your comments implied you may have a fair bit to share with us.

Cool

P.S.

Iain,

Sorry, almost missed you there...

I suppose you are right... I could drop it on someone or maybe use the sharp bit of a snapped conrod to cause some tissue damage...
