Euro-import mods
#1
Having imported my first WRX from Holland some nine months ago, I was wondering whether any of the other importers on the forum have carried out any official (warranty wise) engine mods.
Prior to importing I was unaware of the PPP issue whereby the kit must be fitted by a dealer in the country of origin. This makes(expensive road trip aside) the warranty friendly upgrade a rather costly option.
If anyone has found any loopholes which enable a similar upgrade to be carried out then please could they advise, as I would love to enhance the sound (and performance) of an otherwise cracking car.
Cheers,
Matt

Why dont you de-cat the car and then get an Ecutek re-map,most dealers are not too bothered about a de-cat and cannot detect it has been re-mapped unless they drive it and FEEL the difference.
Remember that for warranty work the UK dealer applies to the country of origin for authorisation to complete the work and its in their interests to get it done as they get paid labour charges and hence the country in question will never see your car and what gentle mods you have done.
Take a look at the Dutch warranty document and you will be suprised by what is NOT COVERED.There is an awfull lot listed that they class as wear and tear items and wont cover.
